BSG would like to congratulate our newest junior to the program, Holden Schipper, on winning the Junior Event at Deer Run on August 11th. Although he just joined the BenShearGolf team, his hard work so far has not gone unrewarded.

BenShearGolf Junior Sammie Dolce won the Mountain Classic July 29-30th. Samanthat Galantini and Tanvi Samayam also placed 3rd and 5th respectively.

BSG would also like to congratulate Thomas O'neill for winning the 99th WY Dear Junior Championship at Watchung Valley Country Golf Club.

Samantha Galantini Just Keeps Winning

BenShearGolf would like to congratulate one of our Junior Golfers who has gone on quite a tear in the past 6 weeks.  Whenever we checked, it seemed that Samantha Galantini was at the top of the leaderboard!  Samantha placed first in the following events:

Junior event at NJ National,

Montclair Golf Club Championship,

the Essex Fells Country Club Championship,

the Greenbrook Country Club Championship, and

the Junior Challenge Event at Architects.

We are happy that Samantha was able to add such success to a summer filled with its share of restrictions and challenges, proving that hard work wins.

Samantha Galantini wins the NJPGA Junior Cup in the 11-15 age division at the Mendham Golf Club, July 20-21.

For the fifth year in a row, BSG is proud to say that one of our Junior golfers has taken the individual title at the Tournament of Champions.  This year, the honor belongs to high school Junior, Yoona Kim.  It was also a TOC leaderboard filled with many dedicated BSG Juniors with top spots--7 of the top 10 and 11 of the top 20!  Top scoreres included:

Yoona Kim: 1st
Tiya Chowdary: 2nd
Gio Kim: 5th
Madeline Gin: 6th
Christine Shao: 7th
Katie Lu: 7th
Sydney Kuo: 9th
Anna Bowman: 14th
Angela Lee: 16th
Ashley Lu: 20th
Mia Sutton: 20th

In addition to the individual titles, Montgomery High School placed first as a team, with three BSG girls leading their school to victory (Tiya Chowdary, Madeline GIn, and Lauren Chung).  Nice team work, ladies!

BSG Alum Ends Freshman Year with a Record

With the NCAA Championship Tournament completed, the college golf season wrapped up this week. Northwestern Freshman and decorated BSG alumna, Kelly Sim, finished her first colligate season placing 16th in the entire country at this tournament, holing 10 birdies on the way. This impressive finish brings together a great freshman year for Kelly, after receiving First-Team All Big Ten Honors back in April. In addition, Kelly finished the season with the best rookie scoring average in Northwestern University program history. Since Kelly has always been one of the most consistently harding working junior golfers, her success comes as no great surprise.  It's great to see though. Keep it up Kelly!
